Summary
Forthcoming EU call topic HORIZON-NEB-2027-01-REGEN-01 · HORIZON Research and Innovation Actions. Part of call HORIZON-NEB-2027-01: Innovative models for neighbourhoods that integrate beauty, inclusiveness and sustainability. Opens 2027-05-05; next deadline 2027-12-01. Expected Outcome: Project results are expected to contribute to all of the following expected outcomes: - More optimised construction or renovation processes and improved building performance thanks to hybrid building solutions combining innovative and conventional construction materials, products or techniques. - Increased awareness of the construction ecosystem[1] actors of the positive and negative aspects of hybrid building solutions.
Scope: The transition to a more sustainable[1] built environment[1] has led to the development of innovative constructions materials, products and techniques supporting the decarbonisation, climate resilience, circularity[4], durability or adaptability of buildings and the built environment, such as bio-based[1] and circular building materials, 3D-printed building elements or the redevelopment and/or adaptation of vernacular and traditional construction materials, products and techniques. These are often conceived as alternatives to conventional construction materials, products and techniques such as concrete, steel, or on-site construction, and efforts are not always made to combine the two. Yet, hybrid building solutions hold potential to improve the sustainability, performances and architectural quality – including beauty[1] – of the built environment. Similarly, combining traditional craftsmanship with state-of-the-art techniques and modern technology can improve the performance, durability, resilience, or sustainability of new buildings and renovation projects. This topic thus seeks to develop innovative hybrid solutions…

- Most Horizon Europe calls score three criteria (the ERC uses excellence alone). Excellence: clarity and ambition of the objectives, and the soundness of the methodology.
- Impact: credible pathways to the expected outcomes, and measures to communicate and exploit results.
- Quality and efficiency of implementation: the work plan, resources and the consortium's capacity.
